Urology

The urology department provides a full range of care for inpatients and outpatients. There are seven consultant urologists, junior medical staff and six specialist nurses. The outpatient clinics include consultant general urology, uro-oncology, paediatric urology and rapid access prostate clinic. There are also nurse-led andrology, continence, prostate, pre-operative assessment and oncology (cancer) clinics.

Diagnostics include flexible cystoscopy, transrectal ultrasound and prostatic biopsies, flow rates and urodynamics.

A full range of elective and emergency operations are available, with close links to Bristol and Exeter for specialist tertiary referral.
