Urology

The urology department provides a full range of care for inpatients and outpatients. There are four consultant urologists, one associate specialist, junior medical staff and six specialist nurses. The outpatient clinics include consultant general urology, uro-oncology, paediatric urology and rapid access prostate clinic. There are also nurse-led andrology, continence, prostate, pre-operative assessment and oncology (cancer) clinics.

Diagnostics include flexible cystoscopy, transrectal ultrasound and prostatic biopsies, flow rates and urodynamics.

A full range of elective and emergency operations are available, with close links to Bristol and Exeter for specialist tertiary referral.
