Physiotherapy

Welcome to the Physiotherapy Services

Physiotherapists help to restore movement and function to as near normal as possible when someone is affected by injury, illness or by developmental or other disability (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, 2016).

Physiotherapists provide specialist skills in a variety of medical areas including; respiratory, musculoskeletal and neurological environments. We assess and treat patients with a wide variety of conditions aiming to promote independence and return to usual activities.

All physiotherapists have a degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy and are registered with the HCPC. There are around 100 people working in the physiotherapy department within Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

During normal working hours (08:30 - 16:30 Mon-Fri) you will find physiotherapists on each ward in the hospital. Alternatively they can be contacted via the ward receptionist or reception in the physiotherapy department (located in Queen's building next to A&E). The contact number for the physiotherapy department is 01823 34 4968.

Please follow the links to the left to find the team you require and the contact numbers for that team.
