I graduated from medical school in Berlin, Germany, in 1995 and came to England in 1998. I have been working at Musgrove Park Hospital since 2009.

I completed my consultant training in 2008 (London rotation) and have acquired specialist expertise in advanced therapeutic endoscopy (camera test procedure), e.g. ERCP (bile and pancreas duct endoscopy), including SpyGlass & EHL gallstone destruction, gastro-intestinal stenting (re-opening of blocked gut), small bowel endoscopy (balloon-supported), and hepatology (liver disease), including viral hepatitis management.

My specialist training included prolonged periods at the Royal Free Hospital (London), University College London (UCL) and The Royal London Hospitals (Barts Health).

My research activity has been in the field of bile duct cancer (at UCL) and sexually transmitted diseases (in Madagascar, Namibia and Germany, Humboldt University, Berlin).

I am the lead for hepatology (liver diseases) and alcohol services at Musgrove Park Hospital and core member of the upper gastro-intestinal cancer multi-disciplinary team (MDT). Together with Dr Wesley, I am currently leading our endoscopy services (started in April 2018), and I was clinical service lead (CSL) for gastroenterology between 2012 and 2016.
