I studied medicine at Oxford University, qualifying in 1994. I then initially trained for three years as a GP in Nottingham before switching to paediatrics (medical care of children) in 1997. My paediatric training has all been based around Bristol and the south west. I was appointed as a paediatric consultant at Musgrove Park Hospital in 2007.

I am a general paediatrician with a special interest in oncology and palliative care. As part of a multidisciplinary team, I look after all children in our area with a cancer diagnosis. We share care with the tertiary oncology centre in Bristol, this allows children to receive the majority of their treatment locally whilst still benefiting from the expertise from Bristol.

I work one session a week with the COMPASS team who care for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.
