Leighton Phillips

I studied medicine at the University of Leicester, qualifying in 1996. I undertook paediatric (medical care of infants, children and adolescents) training in Leicester, Sydney and Oxford, ultimately specialising in community child health and neurodisability.

I moved to Musgrove Park Hospital in 2009, having previously worked as consultant community paediatrician in Oxford from 2006.

I specialise in neurodevelopmental paediatrics and community child health. This involves assessment and management of children with a wide range of developmental and neurological disorders including developmental delay, learning difficulties, muscle disorders, cerebral palsies, epilepsy, neurofibromatosis, Down syndrome, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autistic spectrum conditions.

I am medical lead for children with neurodisability.
