James Coulston

Having graduated from University of Wales College of Medicine, I went on to complete junior surgical training in Wales before crossing the border back into England.

During my higher vascular and general surgical rotation in the South West I completed a Masters degree in disaster healthcare and worked in Ethiopia. I have also taught trauma care in Ethiopia, Sierra Leone and the Caribbean.

I achieved a Scholarship from the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) with work on the diabetic foot and have set up the Bristol Trauma Course.

I am faculty on many national courses such as the National Vascular Training Day and the UK Endovascular Trainees course.

Prior to working in Musgrove I was awarded the Royal College of Surgeons and Vascular Society Fellowship, undertaken in the University of Liverpool vascular unit. This gave me advanced training in endovascular and open arterial surgery.
