I am a consultant vascular (blood) and endovascular surgeon.
My areas of specialist interest are the management of peripheral vascular disease (obstruction of large arteries not within the heart or brain), aortic aneurysm (swelling of the aorta), carotid artery disease (arteries to the head, brain and face), vascular trauma and venous disease (problems with veins including varicose veins).
My undergraduate training was undertaken at University of Oxford Medical School and St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals Medical School.
I completed my specialist vascular training at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, and also enhanced my expertise in vascular and endovascular surgery with Fellowships at Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham and the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast.
I have also been awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) from the University of London for research into the ischaemic injury of transplant kidneys (tissue damage related to a kidney transplant).
In 2014, I was also appointed as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Bristol Medical School.
