After qualifying as a doctor, I trained at hospitals in Derby, Birmingham and New Zealand in medicine, emergency medicine and paediatrics (care of children), before choosing to specialise in anaesthesia and intensive care.

After starting in Norwich, I moved to a position based at King’s College Hospital, London, which included working in Bromley, Brighton and East Grinstead.

My senior intensive care training was carried out in Nepean Hospital, Western Sydney, Australia, and at The Royal London Hospital.

I started as a consultant at Musgrove Park in February 2009 and I and my colleagues provide 24 hour, seven day cover for the intensive care unit (ITU).

When not working in ITU I work as an anaesthetist for patients having urology (urinary tract) operations, as well as various other specialties. I also carry out regular sessions on the labour ward, providing epidurals for mums in labour and anaesthesia for mums who are having caesarean sections.
