Guy Fender

Guy Fender

I trained in London and carried out general surgery and urology junior doctor roles before moving to the South West for medical jobs in diabetology (clinical science of diabetes) and accident and emergency.

I completed the GP vocational training scheme in Exeter in 1990 and had locum GP jobs in Australia and New Zealand before starting obstetrics and gynaecology in Jersey.

I completed an MD (doctor of medicine) in menstrual disorders in 2000 and sub-specialised in reproductive medicine and surgery after five years in Cambridge with a special interest in pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids and menstrual disorders.

I have been a consultant in general obstetrics and gynaecology at Musgrove since 2002; developing the outpatient hysteroscopy (a procedure used to examine the inside of the uterus) service and minimal access surgery for benign disease.

I am passionate about refining the care and treatment for women’s health, innovating with new techniques and providing a high quality service.
