Patient Experience

Patient Experience

Patient experience is a phrase commonly used to refer to all aspects of patient care. At Musgrove we strive to improve our patients’ experience by treating patients with respect and dignity, living by our values, and keeping our patients, informed, supported, and listened to.

We do our best to provide our patients with the highest quality care and are committed to  listening and responding to any queries and feedback they have. Our patient feedback system helps us identify what we are doing well and any areas that may need improving.

Our patient experience team have a number of ways to collect patient experience here  at Musgrove Park Hospital, these include:

  • Giving patients the opportunity to take part in the NHS Friends and Family test
  • Sending trained Volunteers to the wards to conduct inpatient surveys, on a daily basis.
  • Participating in national surveys and audits.
  • Reviewing and responding to all NHS friends and family tests and inpatient survey comments: circulating the feedback to all ward sisters, matrons and managers, to be dealt with appropriately;all ward staff see the monthly results and comments, and our monthly test results can be accessed by the public.
  • Holding events for Musgrove Partners and stakeholders to share their experiences and provide advice to improve patient care.
  • The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team is a key enabler in improving patient experience. If you would like to give us feedback or raise a concern you have, please contact the PALS team.
