Opportunities for Musgrove volunteers

Opportunities for Musgrove volunteers

Volunteers are involved in many areas in the hospital. They welcome and help patients and visitors at reception areas, help in the wards, clinics and the Chapel and perform clerical tasks.

Volunteers are not expected to have any particular knowledge of hospitals or healthcare; the important requirement is a desire to help and the ability to offer a regular half-day session a week.

Opportunities for volunteers to help support our patients include:

Musgrove Partners Partners Group Shot

The Musgrove Partners are an award-winning group of volunteers who work with the hospital on a range of projects and steering groups. They are not staff but they are not completely independent due to their close involvement with the administration of the hospital. They bring an objective view to what we are doing and suggest ways to help us improve the quality of the patient experience. As challenging but supportive friends of the hospital they add real value to working groups, audits, discussion groups and committees in many areas of the hospital’s life.

The Musgrove Partners' Mission Statement:

The Musgrove Partners exist to help the hospital improve the quality of the patient experience. They are an independent group, supportive of the hospital yet separate from it. They are not a representative group, and bring their own personal perspectives as patients, ex patients and members of the community. They have no statutory powers or responsibilities, and act at a practical level. As challenging but supportive friends of the Trust they can add real value to working groups, audits, discussion groups and committees in many areas of the hospital’s life.
