Changes to the Physio Service at Musgrove Park - 02 July 2018

Temporary relocation of Physiotherapy Outpatient Services: Patient survey

In September 2018, the physiotherapy out-patient service is moving from Musgrove Park Hospital to Dene Barton Community Hospital in Cotford St Luke for six months.

We would like to know what you think of our plans and how this might affect you.

What changes are planned to Physiotherapy services?

Our physiotherapy service is currently run from Musgrove Park Hospital.  We are planning to move this service to Dene Barton Community Hospital, in Cotford St. Luke.  From Taunton, this is 5.5 miles or a 15 minute drive.

Why do you need to move the service?

The NHS needs to prepare for winter, when more patients need to be admitted to hospital.  The Physiotherapy department will be used as wards for more beds so that we can look after the extra patients that will need to be cared for over winter.

Why are you moving to Cotford St. Luke?

Dene Barton Community Hospital in Cotford St. Luke is a modern building with free parking.  There is currently lots of space available for the physiotherapy department to move there.

Where can I find out more?
