Musgrove Park Hospital has opened up visiting hours, making it easier and more accessible for patients’ family, friends and carers to visit their loved ones.

We believe that support from family, friends and carers is an integral part of our patient’s recovery and this is why we are so pleased to launch this change to visiting hours.

Visiting is now open from 10am to 9pm, seven days a week. Visiting outside of these times can also be pre-arranged with the ward nurse in charge. The change follows a successful trial of extended visiting hours and feedback from patients, relatives and staff.

A new Visitors’ Charter has been developed and copies are available on the wards. This gives further details about what visitors can expect from us when visiting Musgrove, but also some of the expectations we have to help us maintain a healing and calm environment for our patients through responsible visiting. The charter can be viewed here.

Martine Price, associate director patient experience, said: “The changes to visiting present us with a real opportunity to reiterate our commitment to carers and we have already received fantastic feedback from carers about the difference it is making for them and their loved ones when they are in hospital.”
