Jubilee Opening Success - 28 January 2015

As many of you will be aware, last Friday (23 January), we celebrated the official opening of our Jubilee Building and concourse. DSC01469

The opening was a great success with Taunton MP, Jeremy Browne, carrying out the official ceremony, which consisted of a plaque unveiling and tours of the building.

As well as the opening event, we wanted to give all colleagues the opportunity to celebrate with us and, therefore, exclusive Jubilee Building celebratory cakes were delivered around the hospital, which we hoped you enjoyed.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event and to all staff who contributed in making the day a great success. We would also like to give special thanks to: M&S Simply Food, Parkside, The League of Friends and Apple FM.

Taunton Deane MP Jeremy Browne officially opened Musgrove Park Hospital’s Jubilee Building and hailed the facilities as “remarkable”.

Mr Browne, said: "During my decade as the MP for Taunton Deane there have been remarkable new developments at Musgrove Park.

“The Beacon Centre transformed cancer treatment for Taunton Deane residents. The helicopter pad has also made a difference to patients needing emergency attention.

"Now the Jubilee Building has been built for surgical patients. The quality of the facilities is remarkable. It is such a dramatic improvement on the previous provision.

"The next steps will be to continue to replace the old buildings which are well beyond their sell-by date. That obviously has financial implications and will have to be done one step at a time."

Mr Browne was joined by Rachel Gilmour, who is the LibDem Parliamentary Candidate for Taunton Deane.
