Over eighty artists will be taking part in Musgrove Park Hospital’s ‘Art on the Block’ Charity Art Auction to help raise money to improve the healing environment for patients throughout the hospital.

Art in the Block is a bi-annual event organised by the hospital’s Art for Life team and will be held on Tuesday, 20th May at 6pm in the hospital’s award winning Beacon Centre.

For the event artists from around the country are invited to donate a piece of work they create on a primed A5 block sent to them by the hospital.

Lisa Harty, Art and Design Co-ordinator for the Hospital, said: “We are very proud of this extremely successful event and the huge support we gain from the artists who donate their work. Each artist is sent an identical primed A5 block and it is up to them what they produce.

“The artworks that will be auctioned at our event this year will include drawings, paintings, prints, glass work, collages and even sculptures. The money raised from this event will allow us to continue to work with our colleagues at the hospital to enhance the healing environment for patients, visitors and all who work here.”

Now in its fourth year, Art on the Block has gained a reputation for providing an enjoyable way to buy great art at affordable prices. With the help of our corporate sponsor, Foot Anstey LLP, we can guarantee that 100% of the money raised will go directly to support the work of Art for Life.
