Musgrove’s Cancer Centre achieves Customer Service Excellence Award - 18 September 2013

Musgrove Park Hospital’s Cancer Centre, the Beacon Centre, has been awarded the Customer Service Excellence Award.

The Customer Service Excellence Award, from the Centre for Assessment Ltd, was developed to offer public services a practical tool for driving customer-focused change within organisations.
The Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital underwent an independent assessment in July in order to demonstrate its compliance with the Customer Service Excellence Standard. The centre met all of the criteria to gain the accreditation.
The formal report, by Customer Service Excellence Assessor, Sue Dowey explained: “The Beacon Centre teams (haematology, oncology and palliative care) are exemplary; they provide high levels of care to patients and carers and have met every single requirement of the Customer Service Excellence Standard.”
Sue continued: “Feedback from patients interviewed at the on-site assessment also confirmed excellent levels of customer satisfaction. There was real evidence that the teams in the Beacon Centre are truly committed and inspired to deliver the best possible experience to the patients in their care.”
Beacon Centre Manager and Lead Cancer Nurse, Babette Fuller said: “I am delighted to announce this fantastic achievement. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped us earn this award and more importantly I would like to thank members of staff for the excellent service all our teams deliver for our patients every day.”
The Beacon Centre has been successful in achieving a number of awards, some of which include the CHKS (Insight for better healthcare) international award for providing exceptionally high quality and safe care and the Macmillan Quality Environmental Mark.
