February's Employee of the Month - 08 March 2013

No task is ever too great for February’s Employee of the Month

Women’s Health Ward Receptionist, Ruth Stephens, has been announced as February’s Employee of the Month at Taunton’s Musgrove Park Hospital.

Ruth was nominated by her colleagues for going the extra mile; when the ward is under pressure she can often be seen making beds, serving teas and meals whilst carrying out her own role to a high standard.

Musgrove’s Women’s Health Ward Manager, Cathy Phillips and Housekeeper Debbie Whiting, who nominated Ruth said, “Ruth’s co-ordination and organisational skills are second to none, she always approaches any task with a smile. Nothing is too difficult or too much trouble.

“Ruth works tirelessly carrying out follow-up phone calls to patients who are part of the ward’s Enhanced Recovery Programme which aims to improve the experience of women undergoing major surgery and promote their recovery.

“She makes sure all patients, visitors and colleagues on the ward have the support they need; no task is ever too great for her. Ruth always remains helpful and positive when the ward is busy and we are thrilled that she has been recognised for the continued support she shows to her colleagues”.

When Ruth received the award she said “I was shocked and certainly didn’t expect to receive this award. When I heard what my colleagues had said about me I was so touched. To be honest words cannot express how I feel and I just can’t say thank you enough.”

The winner of Employee of the Month receives a prize bundle worth over £100 sponsored by Holiday Inn Taunton, Tone Leisure, O’Bridge Brewers Fayre, Musgrove Flowers and Orchards Restaurant.
