Improving Care

Improving Care

Musgrove Park Hospital is asking for families to help, advise and develop an improved system for emergency and urgent care for children and young people in Somerset. The aim of the project is to make sure families are seen by the right person, at the right time so they get the right advice.

GPs, commissioners, South Western Ambulance Service Trust (SWAST), emergency and paediatric staff are currently involved in this project, however, to help us make the right improvements we need to understand the experiences and views of the families who are using / have used this service. The project will be run by a 'virtual group' that will mainly communicate through email and telephone. Occasional meetings that focus on specific issues may also take place and your views may be sought by some or all of these means.

The help you give will fundamentally change the healthcare systems for families that are facing the very stressful experience of an ill child.

If you’d like to be involved in this project please contact Sarah Bridges, consultant paediatrician on email at: sarah.bridges@tst.nhs.uk
