Who's who - staff uniforms

DoctorDoctor

Doctors do not wear a uniform. They usually wear smart clothes or theatre scrubs, have bare arms below the elbow and carry a stethoscope. Doctors can be identified by their name badge.

 

MidwifeMidwife

Midwives wear purple striped tunics in ward areas and theatre scrubs on the labour wards.

 

 


Staff Nurse (1)Staff Nurse 

Staff nurses wears pale blue tunics with white stripes. They supervise care for individual patients.

PhysiotherapistsPhysiotherapists

Physiotherapists wear white tunics with navy piping. They visit the wards every day.

ADNAssociate Director of Nursing
ADNs wear navy tunics with red piping.

Occupational TherapistOccupational Therapists

Occupational therapists wear white tuinics with green piping. They staff visit the wards every day.

Matron 1 Matron

Matrons wear red tunics. They have responsibility for two to four wards or areas.

 

Senior SisterSenior Sister

Senior sisters wear navy blue tunics. There is a senior sister in charge of every ward.

 

 

Junior Sister (1)Junior Sister

Junior sisters wear plain, mid blue tunics. They deputise for senior sisters.

Clinical Nurse SpecialistClinical Nurse Specialist

Clinical Nurse Specialists wear navy tunics with yellow piping. 

 

Therapeutic RadiographerTherapeutic Radiographer

Therapeutic radiographers wear royal blue tunics.

 

 

RadiographerDiagnostic Radiographers

Diagnostic radiographers wear magenta tunics.

 

 

SonographerSonographer (AAA screening programme)

Sonographers wear white tunics with green piping. They perform AAA screening.

 

 

Assistant PractitionerAssistant Practitioners

Assistant practitioners wear teal tunics and black trousers.

 

 


Healthcare AssistantsHealthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants wear pale green with white stripes. They support our staff nurses.

Ward Assistant (1)Ward Assistant

Ward assistants wear grey tunics with white stripes. They keep wards clean and stocked.

Housekeeper (2)Housekeepers

Housekeepers wear maroon waistcoats. There is usualy one Housekeeper per ward.

Phelbotomist (1)       Phlebotomists

Phlebotomists wear white tunics with red piping. They are clinical support workers who take blood                             samples from patients.

PorterPCP (Porters)

Porters wear light blue polo tops and navy or black trousers.
