Infection prevention and control is a high priority for us, and we are committed to ensuring the highest standards are delivered throughout our hospital to help prevent any avoidable infections.
Figures over recent years have fallen for both MRSA blood stream infections and Clostridium difficile (C. diff.), and we aim to maintain this downward trend. Reducing infection figures can only be achieved with everyone working together, and this means staff, patients and visitors in our hospital.
Hand Hygiene is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of all infections, and we encourage our staff, patients and visitors to do this by either washing hands with soap and water, or using the alcohol gel available at the entrances to wards or at the end of every patient's bed.
