League of Friends supports Triscombe ward’s aim to make patients feel at home - 14 November 2017

A new television in the day room on Musgrove’s Triscombe ward is helping patients feel more at home during their stay.

The flat screen television, which cost £500, was donated by the League of Friends.

Improvements to the day room are part of an ongoing project which hopes to enhance the experience of patients staying on the ward, which predominately cares for the elderly.

The League of Friends has previously supported the day room by donating other items including a light box which features a back-lit rural scene of a Somerset hillside.

It is now kindly funding a cabinet to hold DVDs and games for the patients.

A number of visual pieces have also been donated by Art for Life.

Colin Hawkins from the League of Friends, said: “We were able to buy this television through book sales in the hospital.

“The league is happy to have supported such a beneficial piece of equipment, which we hope will enhance the patient experience.

“We are continuing to support the day centre by funding a cabinet to hold DVDs and games.”
